Starting a blog

Some folks I know suggested that I start blogging as a way of getting my creative juices flowing.

So, here I am.

For those who don't know me (which I expect to be about zero people), I'm a political scientist specializing in American politics with a particular interest in elections. Most of my work these days is on veto threats and on people changing their minds on voting for propositions in California. But, to be honest, I spend most of my time thinking and reading about federal elections.

Anyway, maybe I'll get some of my colleagues to blog here as well (or, maybe they'll insist we create a blog with a different title). But, for the meantime, I'll dump some thoughts here (which, I'm now realizing as I type this, are going to need to be a lot more analytical and involve the word "I" less).

Enjoy, nobody at all.
